AGM BATTERIES

Unlocking the Power of AGM Batteries: Understanding the Benefits of Absorbent Glass Mat Technology

An Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery is a type of sealed lead-acid battery in which the electrolyte is absorbed into a fiberglass mat, rather than a liquid. AGM batteries have several benefits over traditional flooded lead-acid batteries, including:

  • They are sealed, so they do not require regular maintenance (e.g., adding water to the cells).
  • They are less prone to leakage and spills, making them safer to use in enclosed spaces or in vehicles.
  • They are more resistant to vibration and shock, making them well-suited for use in mobile or off-grid applications.
  • They have a higher energy density, meaning they can store more energy in a given space than flooded lead-acid batteries.
  • They have a lower internal resistance, which means they can deliver more power more quickly.
  • They have a longer service life and longer shelf life than traditional flooded lead-acid batteries.

AGM batteries are commonly used in a wide range of applications, including recreational vehicles, boats, solar power systems, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, and many of our Chrysler, Dodge, RAM and Jeep models.
